HOST FAMILIES

Become A Blowfish Baseball Host Today

The Backbone of Blowfish Baseball

The Blowfish Baseball Club is currently seeking host families for the upcoming 2017 season. The Blowfish are always in need of host families, especially in Lexington County. The Blowfish host family program is the foundation on which the Blowfish family and team morale is built.

Our players travel across the country to spend the summer here in Lexington County to further develop their baseball skills for the next step in their careers. They are student-athletes recruited by the Blowfish or recommended by a coach or major league scout because of their potential to succeed as a professional baseball player.

Our host families provide:

  • A room in a safe environment.
  • Access to a bathroom.
  • Access to laundry.
  • Meals are at the discretion of the family.

As a host family, there are many rewards this service can bring to your family such as excellent role models for young children and teenagers, and are a great company for the entire households as well as providing a valuable service to your community. In fact, it is not uncommon for a player to remain in touch with his summer collegiate baseball host family for years afterward, even when he has lost touch with the team itself. There are numerous Blowfish who have been recruited by the Major-League system and gone on to play professional baseball.

Being a Blowfish Baseball host family contains a certain amount of expectation. It is important to remember that you are being entrusted to provide essential comfort for the player by both the organization and his family members. In addition, these players are young adults and deserve a place in the house where they can go to rest, relax, be alone, have a private phone conversation, etc. Furthermore, we expect and require all players to be respectful to their host family as well as the rules of the household. Each family should be considerate of their player and their grueling baseball schedule.

Thank you again for your consideration to host a Blowfish Player. We are looking forward to an exciting summer season at Lexington County Baseball Stadium!
