Michael Green Named 2019 Blowfish MVP
After a tremendous 2019 season, Clemson's Michael Green was named the Most Valuable Player for the Lexington County Blowfish.
"Michael made an immediate impact when he joined the team following Clemson's NCAA Tournament appearance," General Manager Theo Bacot stated. "Hitting a home run in your first at-bat with a team instills a lot of confidence in our organization that we made the right choice in bringing him in."
Green finished the season with a .337 batting average and six home runs, while being selected as a Coastal Plain League All-Star and CPL Select team member as well.
Not only did he flash the bat, Green showed off the leather coming in at #2 in Sportscenter's Top 10 for a diving catch in right field during the CPL All-Star Game.
In what would turn out to be his final game in 2019, Green hit three home runs against the Fayetteville Swampdogs at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
Michael Green became the first Blowfish player to hit a home run in his first at-bat and final at-bat with the team.
Green will begin his junior season at Clemson University this fall, along with 2019 Blowfish Sheldon Reed and Bo Majkowski.
